(C45s)Seven (7) by Prince

Label: Paisley Park 18824 Year: 1992
Condition: M $8.00
Seven (7)From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. The flip side of this terrific single has a shorter acoustic version of the song, which is also worth seeking out. Note that the track features a sample of "Tramp" by Lowell Fulsom and Jimmy McCracklin. Everyone seems to have a different theory about what "7" things Prince is referring to. Some say, the 7 deadly sins, some say the 7 tribes (the idea of merging into a single humanity from a bunch of warring races)... I hope he means things like Despair, Hunger, Disease, Hatred, Prejudice, and Fear. What I'm sure of? I want those 7 bad things to go away, too, and I'm grateful to Prince for trying to articulate that vision of a better human future.
