Maria Dolores/ Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)This remarkable item was included as a promotional record with Baez's 1970 album, Blessed Are. The back side of the stark picture sleeve has the full lyrics to both songs, which are a clear reminder that the immigration/deportation issues of 2006 are nothing new at all. In fact, we faced the issue during a long national debate in the 1950's and 1960's, and that was merely a repeat of earlier national soul-searching about immigrants rights. The record itself is a 7-inch that plays at 33 1/3 rpm, and has a small hole to boot.
