(C45s)Operation Heartbreak/ Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody by Aretha Franklin

Label: Columbia 42157 Year: 1961
Factory sleeve included
Condition: M- $20.00
Operation Heartbreak/ Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie MelodyThis early Aretha 45 clearly shows how Columbia was trying to split her into different compartments... The A side ("Operation") was a top-10 RnB hit, but didn't even place on the pop chart. The flip, however, became her first top 40 pop hit, but it didn't place on the RnB chart. Both sides are excellent, but very different, sides of Aretha's early style. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Columbia Records factory sleeve. It has nearly pristine labels, and the vinyl (styrene) looks untouched. The audio grades very close to Mint with no distortion.
