#26 (Marsh 1001)
#188 (RS 500)
Travelin' Band/ Who'll Stop The Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Label: Fantasy 637 Year: 1970
Picture sleeve included: M-
Condition: M- $22.00
Travelin' Band/ Who'll Stop The RainHere's a beautiful copy of the CCR single, in its original picture sleeve, that Dave Marsh places first among 7 that he includes in his list of the 1001 greatest 45s of Rock'n'Soul. As a huge Creedence fan, I just can't resist listing all seven here:
  • Who'll Stop The Rain (#26)
  • Proud Mary (#125)
  • Bad Moon Rising (#198)
  • Fortunate Son (#242)
  • Run Through The Jungle (#549)
  • Green River (#565)
  • Lodi (#828)

One might quibble about this list, but Marsh does a pretty good job of nailing it... even though one of my personal favorites, "Have You Ever Seen The Rain," doesn't appear here. Still, given these songs and a desert island, I could be pretty content for a long time. :-Note: This 45 has strong-EX labels with some ringwear. The vinyl and audio grade Near Mint, and the picture sleeve is Near Mint as well with only very minor flaws.
