Promotional 45 records are fun and interesting to collect not only because they typically have superior audio as well as songs and versions of songs not available on either the retail 45 or on 33 rpm vinyl. In addition, the label designs for promos are often different from and even more interesting than the retail label. (That said, most record companies used white labels and black ink for their promos, with perhaps a variation in the company logo.) Finally, some 45s never made it past the promo stage — that is, no retail 45 was ever released if dee-jay response wasn't enthusiastic enough to warrant a retail release. So some labels and songs appear only on promotional releases.

Note: The labels are shown in roughly alphabetical order by label name. Last updated 03/16/22, this page shows 995 promo labels.
