This seldom-seen Beatles single is one of several whose licensing was grabbed by other U.S. companies before Capitol finally got wise. It was never released as a single in the U.K. This is the version with a black label and rainbow edge, which shows the company's logo as a bracketed "VJ." The songwriting credits on this pressing are listed as "McCartney-Lennon," an error that I'm sure didn't please John. :-) (Especially since "Secret" is one of his songs.) Note: This copy has weak EX labels, reflecting ringwear. This styrene pressing has a Near Mint appearance, and the A side audio is indeed Near Mint (no distortion and only very faint and rarely heard surface noise); however, the B side was apparently played more often with a sub-par needle, as it has light distortion and grades EX. (The overall audio grade, a strong EX, is average of the two sides.)
