Now, I'm as big a fan of Big Star as anybody, but I have to say that if I were Eric Carmen, I'd be pretty pissed at not getting more credit for advancing the sound of Power Pop than most critics grudgingly offer his old band, the Raspberries. Consider, for example, that this single and its predecessor, "Go All The Way," were roughly contemporary with the first Big Star LP and singles. And if you listen to this song and a Big Star masterpiece like "September Gurls" in the same sitting, it's clear that Alex Chilton and Eric Carmen were soulmates in sound. So don't be afraid to reminisce about being a teenager again as you listen to this blissful sexual daydream... it's one of the best ever recorded! Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Capitol Records factory sleeve. It has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
