My Heart Is A Chapel/ This Is It

This is a promo copy from the Louise Neal collection. Burke started recording for Apollo in 1954, and this was his last Apollo single. The A side lyrics (but not the music) suggest Gospel, but the RnB flip is a sought-after Burke tune first released on the A side of Apollo 511 the year before. Note: This 45 is among those in the Neal collection that she may have actually played, and which spent some of their life outside a protective sleeve. The 45s in this category may have more noticeable storage wear (ringwear and scuffs/scratches), and the audio may not be pristine due to imperfect grooves. In this case, the labels are Near Mint, reflecting light fading of the white label color as well as a small stamp ("Property of WREV," the station Louise Neal worked for in Reidsville, NC) on the B side label. The vinyl has some light scuffing and grades a strong EX. The audio is close to Near Mint on both sides, but I'm lowering the grade to a strong EX to reflect occasionally audible, light surface noise.
