After a 10-year hiatus from the charts after hitting big with 'Bear Cat' on Sun (an answer record to Willie Mae Thornton's 'Hound Dog'), Thomas back on the charts with this terrific soul number. This great reissue has both of Thomas' essential "Dog" tunes from 1963. This is one of the clear starting points for what I term "Funky Soul," along with the Mar-Keys' "Last Night" and James Brown's "Night Train".
