Walking The Dog/ You Said

Given the novel beat and punchy arrangement on this single—as well as others featuring the Stax house band, such as "Last Night" by the Mar-Keys—one could make a pretty strong case for Stax being the originator of the style that became known as "Funky Soul," and later, "Funk." On the other hand, James Brown's version of "Night Train," from 1962, displays the same funky sound. No matter! It's the music that counts, and this is simply great music! Note: This beautiful copy has Near Mint labels with a small blue stain on the inside hole edge (see scan). The vinyl looks untouched, and the audio sounds pristine Mint!
