This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the

collection. The latin-tinged "East Side" was the originally intended A side of this rare and wonderful single, but it's the uptempo dancer "Elijah" that has Northern Soul fans lining up for a copy! The track is included in one of the playlists in Kev Roberts' book on Northern Soul. There are commonly found reissues and bootlegs of this release, both stock and promo varieties. Rest assured, this is the original 1967 pressing, which has "C-5385-B RE Sm △66821-x ELIJAH ROCKEИ" in the trailoff wax on the "Elijah" side. (Remember, the Louise Neal collection ends at 1970.) Note: This beautiful promo has pristine Mint labels and audio. The vinyl (styrene) is very close to Mint, but I noticed a small set of faint, superficial scuffs on one side, and the wax isn't perfectly flat (although it's within tolerance for new records). This single was sold through the
Louise Neal Auctions page.
