Here's a rare single from one of the masters of rock guitar, without whom there would have been one badly missed Yardbird in 1964-65. The A side has a hard rock rhythm section underpinning a very bouncy, hummable tune with an otherwise bright arrangement, the crisp production provided by Mickie Most. Toward the end, Beck takes a verse with his somewhat manic solo guitar, and you remember that this is much more than a simple pop song. :-) The flip is an impressive psych-rock, guitar-led instrumental. This 1967 release was Beck's first solo single, which managed to "bubble under" the Bilozoard pop chart. Note: This beautiful promo copy comes in a vintage Epic Records factory sleeve. The record is very close to Mint, and the audio itself is pristine.
