Chubby Checker had quite a few big Top 10 hits — "The Twist" actually topping the chart twice, in two different years — but not many two-sided hits. Of those, this was his biggest, with both sides hitting the Top 10. Interestingly, Parkway intended "Popeye" to be the hit, marking it as the A side, though of course "Limbo Rock" was much bigger — both at the time and as part of Checker's musical legacy. Who can imagine a cruise-ship or beach party without somebody initiating a limbo contest at some point? :-) Note: This copy has a beautiful picture sleeve. The record is near mint as well, though the label is rated EX because of some ringwear — mostly on the A side.
