On this early Hickory single, it's clear that the company was positioning Newbury as a new Roy Orbison... and given the quality of his vocal chords, it was understandable why they did so. In addition to his beautiful voice, Newbury was also a gifted songwriter... and sadly never received adequate acclaim for either talent.
