Originally released on Mercury 72764. This is an early Mercury reissue on the yellow "Celebrity Series" label. "Lost" was the first record in the great series that Philadelphia producer/songwriters Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff began in 1968 with Jerry Butler. Butler was their star singer in the vanguard of their new, distinctive "Philly soul" sound, and both of the songs on this out-of-print reissue are classics of that sound. Unfortunately, "Lost" is now lost to the reissue market, as it's no longer available on current 45 rpm vinyl.
