Negotiations/ It's Too Late, He Wins

This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the collection, in its original ABC-Pmt. factory sleeve. Recorded in Nashville and at the time being groomed as a Canadian Country/Western singer, this was Lightfoot's second U.S. single. The tracks had earlier been released on the small Canadian label Chateau. On that first release, "Negotiations" was the clear A side, and the song charted in Canada. On this ABC-Paramount release, the matrix numbers suggest that the Lightfoot-penned "It's Too Late..." was the A side, and that was how it was plugged by Bilozoard at the time. However, the rocking "Negotiations" was clearly the better of the two tracks, and I'm listing it first to acknowledge its first release on Chateau. Incidentally, the writer credit for the B side is listed as "Gord Lightfoot." Note: This beautiful promo has a faint hint of storage wear on the white labels, and the vinyl has a gentle, no-impact warp. Audio is graded Near Mint to reflect very faint surface noise, noticeable mainly on the B side.
