This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the

collection, in its original Atlantic-Atco Group factory sleeve. Both sides of this single are sure to please fans of Memphis-style, uptempo Southern soul. The B side is particularly Funk-y. (The A side is marked as the "Plug Side" on this promo.) Recordings like these represent the pinnacle of Stax-style soul, a sound defined by the label's ace, mixed-race in-house band performing at the peak of their collective genius and imagining grooves that were actually brand new. This sound  mostly of the Southern, or Funky/Deep genres  was one of the most influential funnels feeding the melting pot that drove the evolution of Soul music beginning in the early 1960s. (Other major funnels defined as labels with golden studio bands included Motown (family of labels), Fame (and all the labels the studio's recordings graced, such as Checker and Atlantic), Chess (family of labels), and Gamble (family of labels). Note: After a cleanup, this copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio)!
