This is an original promo copy from the
Louise Neal 45 Collection. Both sides of this obscure 1964 single are great slices of uptempo mid-1960s Northern Soul courtesy of producer Bert Berns, but the A side is a particularly terrific dancer. Note: This 45 is complicated to grade, so bear with me... The A side label grades a strong EX, reflecting some light ringwear and a pink promo stamp, but the B side label is Near Mint with just a whisper of wear (see scan). The A side vinyl and audio grade Near Mint with only very minor flaws. (Among other things, here at Classic 45s Near Mint or better means good enough for broadcast/nightclub play See our
grading standards for the full description.) However, the B side vinyl has a few tiny scratches near the beginning that cause a bit of surface noise largely absent from the A side. Still, strong sound with no distortion, and the sound trends to Near Mint for most of the track. So, in this case the overall grades reflect the lower of the two sides... in this case then, a strong EX across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
