Brown Eyed Girl/ Goodbye Baby (Baby Goodbye)

Like the Kinks, Van Morrison also abandoned garage rock after a brief flirtation with it in his time with Them ("Gloria," "Mystic Eyes," etc). And this was the first statement of his new direction. It was such a new direction, in fact, that I don't think many fans of "Brown Eyed Girl" realized that Van Morrison wrote and sang lead vocal on the grungy "Gloria." This is the most beautiful copy of this hard-to-find single I've ever had in the store. Not only does it have pristine Mint labels and vinyl (styrene), but this pressing has the most attractive typesetting of the several variants that were pressed. Note: The audio isn't quite Mint... but it's a mighty fine Near Mint.
