Four By Six (EP)

From Sundazed Records comes this terrific EP of four early (1966-67) recordings by The New Colony Six for Sentar Records. All of this pre-Mercury material reflects their Garage Band roots, but with the obvious flair for harmony and melody that drove their Mercury singles. The EP is pressed on clear gold vinyl and has a large spindle hole. The back of the picture sleeve has useful liner notes about these recordings.

"Cadillac," the first track on side two, is a cover of a Bo Diddley tune that was the group's first single, Sentar 1203. "Rap-A-Tap" is an early version of a great song that later appeared on the B side of their first Mercury single, "Treat Her Groovy."

On side one of the EP, "Last Nite" is a popular track from the group's first album Breakthrough, and "Accept My Ring" is a previously unreleased take of a track from the group's second LP, Colonization.
