Alabama Shakes is an American blues rock band formed in Athens, Alabama, in 2009. The band, known for its soul-infused, gritty sound, was led by the distinctive powerhouse vocals of Brittany Howard. Their debut album, "Boys & Girls" (2012), earned them three Grammy nominations and established them as significant contributors to the American roots revival of the 2010s. The band's second album, "Sound & Color" (2015), further explored diverse influences and won four Grammy Awards, including Best Alternative Music Album.
