This is one of three monster hits from Wonder's album Innervisions, which followed his first total-creative-control LP, Talking Book. Two of the Innervisions singles -- this one and "Living for the City" -- are included in Dave Marsh's list of the 1,001 greatest singles of the Rock'n'Soul era. The album's other big single -- and one of Wonder's most-loved recordings from this era of his career -- was "Higher Ground."
