Anything For Love

Beautiful Stereo/Stereo promo copy. Here, Warner Bros. gives Gordon Lightfoot the David Foster treatment, with decidedly mixed results in my opinion. Foster's melody is actually quite nice and very Gordon Lightfoot, matching Lightfoot's lyrics beautifully. However, the keyboard washes that were the hallmark of Foster's idea of an instrumental backup sound very out of place behind Lightfoot's classic folk vocal delivery. I fancy that the pic of Lightfoot on the cover of the sleeve shows him with a somewhat skeptical pose and smile. I'm probably reading that one into it, though. :-) By the way, Lightfoot does produce the B side.
