Originally released in the U.K. only on MGM 1459. Interesting story behind this terrific instrumental number... apparently, it was recorded as a throwaway B side to a U.S. single that was only released in the U.K. One key play at a nightclub in 1972, though, turned it into a smash hit. Reissues on Heritage are available, but according to Roberts, the small-hole MGM release was the first. This fine U.K. reissue (with a small hole) features two northern soul instrumentals, both of which appear high up in Kev Roberts' list of the 500 greatest Northern Soul singles.
