As much as I love the Elton John original, I have to say that Rod's version is even better. This was the first time I ever heard that throaty singer, and I was hooked right away. Amazing that this one didn't crack the chart... it wasn't until his next single, 'Maggie May', that most of the world discovered Rod Stewart's talent.
