Hanky Panky/ Thunderbolt

This was the group's first Roulette release, a reissue of songs they had originally recorded and released on smaller labels in 1963, when they were known as just "The Shondells." It turns out that in their original incarnation, this was mostly an instrumental surf-rock group. If you listen to the terrific B side rocker, you'll see what I mean! Besides being a surpringly good surf instrumental, it's also interesting to note that the chord progression is identical to that in "Hanky Panky." Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Roulette Records factory sleeve. It looks almost new (Labels, Vinyl), and the audio sounds pristine Mint!
