Listening to this amazing record again tonight, I'd have to say it's simply the most exciting soul record I've heard in months... and I hear a heckuva lotta exciting soul tunes in a month! With that galloping rhythm, over-the-top arrangement, and urgent vocals, you honestly feel that if his girl doesn't hold on, it'll quite literally be the end of him. The flip is another great, uptempo northern soul track.
