Sock It To 'Em J.B. - Part 1/ Part 2

Who could resist this call to dance action when it was first played in U.K.'s Northern Soul clubs in the late 1960s? The song is not so popular today, but I'll bet it's still a floor-filler, especially when played with a gorgeous original copy like this one! As you would expect from a groove dedicated to the King of Soul and Funk, the arrangement leans toward the Funky side of Soul. Though billed as an instrumental, it's got as much "lyrics" as a tune like "Tighten Up" by Archie Bell & Drells, and I don't think of that as an instrumental track. Do you? Anyway, this beautiful copy is the second pressing, which shows distribution by Atlantic in the outer-rim print. (First pressings lack that note and have an address for the label at the top.) Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Atlantic-Atco Group factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels with just a faint touch of wear (see scan). The vinyl looks untouched, and the grooves reveal what you'd hope and expect from vinyl that looks like this: Pristine Mint sound suitable for framing. :-)
