In case you ever wondered... the opening hysterical laugh and vocal were added to this classic track by the group's producer, Dale Smallin. This is a beautiful copy of the 1966 release, which was a rare case of a song hitting the Top 40 in two (or more) different years: In 1966, "Wipe Out" on Dot 144 reached #16 on the Bilozoard Hot 100 chart, after having climbed to #2 three years earlier, in 1963 on Dot 16479. But that's not all! "Wipe Out" charted again in the summer of 1970, "bubbling under" at #110 nationally; that release also had the catalog number Dot 144 but a different label design. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Dot Records factory sleeve. It grades Near Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
