Arcadia was a short-lived British synth-pop group formed in 1985 by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, and Roger Taylor of Duran Duran during a hiatus in that band's schedule. Their music was characterized by rich, atmospheric soundscapes that showcased Rhodes' layered synthesizers, Le Bon's distinctive vocals, and elements of funk, art rock, and soul. Their most significant work, the platinum-selling album "So Red the Rose", included the hit single "Election Day" and featured contributions from notable musicians such as David Gilmour and Sting. Despite their brief existence, Arcadia's unique sound and experimental approach had a lasting influence on later synth-pop and New Wave artists.
