Belly is an alternative rock band that was formed in 1991 in Boston, Massachusetts. The band was fronted by Tanya Donelly, a former member of Throwing Muses and The Breeders, and released two albums, "Star" (1993) and "King" (1995), before disbanding in 1996. Belly's music is characterized by dreamy, ethereal vocals and melodies, layered over grungy, guitar-driven rock. Their song "Feed the Tree" became a mainstream hit, symbolizing the early 90s' shift from grunge to more melodic alternative rock.
