Bobby Freeman

Bobby Freeman was an American soul and R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer, best known for his 1958 hit "Do You Want to Dance," which he wrote and produced himself. His style combined elements of doo-wop, early rock and roll, and soul music, making him a significant figure in the transition between these genres during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Freeman's other notable hits include "Betty Lou Got a New Pair of Shoes" and "C'mon and Swim," both of which showcased his distinctive, energetic vocal style. Despite his relatively brief peak of fame, Freeman's music has had lasting influence, with "Do You Want to Dance" covered by numerous artists across various genres.
