This was Vee's first chart single, released shortly after his famous stand-in for Buddy Holly at a concert in Fargo, ND (Vee's home town), just after Holly had died in a plane crash. The single was credited to "Bobby Vee and The Shadows" (which was a group he formed in Fargo).
