C.C.S.

C.C.S., or Collective Consciousness Society, was a British musical group active from 1970 to 1973. The band was known for its fusion of jazz, blues, and rock, and was led by blues musician Alexis Korner and produced by Mickie Most. C.C.S. achieved significant success with their big band arrangements of popular songs, notably their version of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love", which was used as the theme for BBC's "Top of the Pops". Despite their short lifespan, C.C.S.'s innovative stylings played a notable role in the early development of jazz-rock fusion in the UK.
