Cannonball

Cannonball was a prominent jazz band known for the strong performances of its lead member, alto saxophonist Julian "Cannonball" Adderley. Emerging in the mid-1950s, the band had a distinctive hard bop style, blending elements of gospel and soul with traditional jazz. Adderley's fluid, expressive playing and the band's innovative use of rhythm made them significant contributors to the evolution of modern jazz. Their influential works include "Somethin' Else," a landmark album featuring jazz luminaries like Miles Davis and Art Blakey.
