Carl Holmes was an American guitarist, best known for his work with his band "Carl Holmes & The Commanders." Emerging in the 1960s, the group was known for their energetic soul and jazz-infused R&B sound. Holmes' distinctive guitar work was central to the band's success and their most significant contribution to music was their 1962 hit, "Cross Our Hearts". Despite not achieving widespread popularity, Holmes and his band left a lasting impression on the Soul-Jazz genre.
