Chairlift was an American synth-pop band formed in Boulder, Colorado, in 2005 by Caroline Polachek and Aaron Pfenning, with Patrick Wimberly joining later. The band's music is characterized by a blend of electronic pop, new wave, and indie rock elements, with Polachek's distinctive, ethereal vocals becoming a signature element. They gained prominence with their song "Bruises," which was featured in an iPod Nano commercial in 2008. Their second album, "Something" (2012), marked a significant evolution in their sound and is often considered their most influential work. Chairlift disbanded in 2017.
