Dayton

Dayton was an American funk band from Dayton, Ohio, active in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their music style was a blend of funk, R&B, and electronic dance music, with notable band members such as Junie Morrison of Parliament-Funkadelic and the Ohio Players. Dayton is best known for their hit single "The Sound of Music," which epitomized their signature sound of catchy melodies over a driving, danceable groove. Their contribution to the post-disco scene was significant and helped shape the direction of dance music in the early 1980s.
