The Desert Rose Band was an influential American country rock band formed in 1985, noted for its fusion of country music with a rock and roll edge. The band was significant for bringing traditional country music back to the mainstream, and was led by Chris Hillman, a former member of the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers. The band's distinctive sound was defined by tight vocal harmonies and the stellar mandolin and guitar playing of Hillman and lead guitarist John Jorgenson. Their most influential work, "He's Back and I'm Blue", topped the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1988.
