Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show

Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show was an American rock band formed in Union City, New Jersey, in 1968. Known for their country-influenced, satirical, and sometimes romantic pop/rock, they gained commercial success in the 70s with hit songs such as "The Cover of Rolling Stone," "Sylvia's Mother," and "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman." Key members included Ray Sawyer, famous for his eye patch and cowboy hat, and Dennis Locorriere, the lead vocalist. Their tongue-in-cheek humor and distinctive style made a significant impact on the pop-rock genre, bridging a unique mix of storytelling and theatrical elements.
