Dr. Hook

Dr. Hook, originally known as Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, was an American rock band formed in Union City, New Jersey in 1968. The group was known for their diverse musical style which incorporated elements of country rock, soft rock, and pop, and their satiric, sometimes humorous lyrics. Notable band members included Ray Sawyer, whose eye patch and cowboy hat became a distinctive visual symbol for the band, and Dennis Locorriere, the lead vocalist. Their most influential works include hits like "Sylvia's Mother" and "The Cover of the Rolling Stone", which contributed to their significance in the 1970s music scene.
