Eddie Harris

Eddie Harris was an American jazz musician, best known for his saxophone work, although he was also a pianist, singer, and composer. His musical style was innovative and eclectic, blending jazz with other genres such as funk, soul, and blues, which resulted in a unique sound that was influential in the development of jazz fusion. Harris is perhaps most renowned for his 1961 album "Exodus to Jazz," which included his own jazz arrangement of the theme from the film "Exodus" and became the first jazz album to be certified gold. His invention, the reed trumpet, and his use of the electric saxophone further underlined his commitment to pushing musical boundaries.
