Alcatraz/ Ululu

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed promo copy, in its original factory sleeve. Jesse Davis made a name for himself in the 1960's and early 1970's as a session guitarist, playing for a vast array of big and rising stars, including Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, John Lennon, John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal, and The Band. He also put out a handful of solo albums featuring a lot of talented friends and acquaintences such as Dr. John, Merry Clayton, and Leon Russell. As you can hear from the jukebox snippet I'm adding, his sound is hard to categorize, but most nearly falls in the range of The Band's southern rock/country-rock orbit. (Note: This artist is Jesse (Ed) Davis, not Jesse Davis the jazz artist.)
