This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the
Louise Neal 45 Collection, in its original Hitsville U.S.A. factory sleeve. Oddly, the Spinners pretty much failed to gain attention on any of the Detroit labels they tried: Tri-Phi, Motown, V.I.P. Although after Motown moved the act from their Motown label to their V.I.P. label, they finally had a hit in the terrific "It's A Shame." But that was in 1970, and the group had been recording for Motown since 1965. Only after they moved to Atlantic Records and began recording in the emerging Soul style built on the work of producer/writers like Thom Bell, Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff, and Van McCoy, which I call Philly Soul, that The Spinners finally find truly big and lasting success, starting with the classic Philly Soul hit "I'll Be Around" in 1972. This particular Motown release, which failed to chart, is a delightfully appealing mid-tempo dancer (once you get past the somewhat cheesy spoken-over-music intro) that you'll thoroughly enjoy whether a fan of Motown or Philly styles, or both! This white label promo has the same Mono version on both sides. Note: This beautiful promo copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
