From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original factory sleeve. This was Pickett's first single for Atlantic. Virtually ignored at the time, it's surprising that today there's not more interest in this recording. The tune was co-written with Don Covay, and the arrangement swings like a cross between Chicago soul and Motown. The backup female singers actually take the lead vocal part in one verse, leaving Pickett to testify in return. Truly great single, and a guaranteed dancer. Note: The labels have some light ringwear.
