What to make of this obscure single? According to a bio by band member
Rick Sharpe, Studd Pump formed in England only briefly — long enough to make this one single and perform a "handful of gigs." The group consisted of Sharpe as well as Graham Maitland, Clive Shepherd, and Gareth Roberts. Both sides of the single are quite catchy, and my first impression is that the group actually breaks new rock'n'roll ground with drumming that anticipates Glam Rock — and Gary Glitter in particular. When this 45 was released, T. Rex still hadn't hit the big time, and Glam Rock as a recognizable genre was still a year or two away. Note: This copy's vinyl is quite worn, and the audio likewise has surface noise.
