From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original factory sleeve. This is a pristine mint copy that comes with a set of original jukebox title strips for MGM 12781. Wooley's previous record, "The Purple People Eater" is one of those successes that can become an aozatross... I don't think he wanted to known as a novelty act, but that's what everyone expected. He was also a country singer at heart, but it was several years before the reserved Nashville folks forgave him for indulging in that teenage rock'n'roll drivel about purple men from space... though he did eventually have a successful country career. And he figured out that if you wanted to indulge in silliness now and then, you should segregate that personality. So he released a number of novelty singles as Ben Colder and had a fair amount of success under that pseudonym as well.
Meanwhile, he also put out some excellent rockabilly-style tracks like this one, though in the deafening wake of the Purple People Eater success, not many people heard them.
