This single's B side is the original version of the song that became the biggest dance craze of the early 1960's. The Chubby Checker version is almost a note-for-note copy. Ballard's version was a minor hit in the Black/RnB market, and I hope he made some serious money from royalties as the song's author. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage King Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels. The vinyl has a few notable scuffs, grading a strong EX in appearance. The audio is a mixed bag. Fans of "Teardrops" will be disappointed to learn that the audio here is a weak EX, with notable surface noise even though the vinyl's appearance is about the same as the B side. Fans of "The Twist" will be delighted to hear that the vinyl's surface noise is minimal, and the sound is clean and clear, grading Near Mint. The overall audio grade, EX+, is an average of the two sides.
