This is a stock copy from the

collection. Note how high Dave Marsh puts this single in his list of the 1,001 greatest 45s of Rock 'n' Soul: #344! I'm not sure I'd rank it
that highly if I were to make such a list, but I agree it's a definite must for any collection of Northern Soul, Chicago style. It's also worth noting that, despite my continuous attempts over 40+ years of 45 collecting, this is the first decent copy of the original 1964 pressing I've ever found! Note: This 45 is among those in the Neal collection that she may have actually played, and which clearly spent some of their life outside a protective sleeve. In this case, the beautiful black Chess labels are Near Mint, reflecting a faint touch of storage wear (see scan). Unfortunately, the vinyl has enough scuffing and tiny scratches to lower its grade to Very Good, though on the strong end of that grade. The audio is strong and undistorted, but there is enough surface noise to lower the Audio grade to the strong side of Excellent (EX+) — better than the vinyl's appearance might suggest; on the A side, the surface noise gradually fades, becoming pretty much inaudible (suggesting a Near Mint grade) in the last half or so.
