We Were Lovers/ Gunna Feel Alright

Very little seems to be known about Mr. Anna, except everyone seems to agree that this is indeed a very special little 45. The A side is a cover of an Exciters single, so clearly he was a big girl group fan... as were most of his U.K. compatriots from the Invasion. The flip is really a Motown-style soul number... terrific uptempo rocker that might even pass for the real thing in a Northern Soul club. On this record, Mr. Anna uses a middle initial "D", but other places refer to his last name as D'Anna. Not sure which is correct, although it seems pretty odd for a rock singer to go around with his middle initial hanging out like this. :-)
